About project : At Space Era Germany, we are dedicated to advancing sustainability and digitalization. We proudly participated in the DÖRKEN Digital Ventures Hackathon: Building Envelope of Tomorrow – Serial Renovation, in collaboration with Vonovia, one of Europe’s largest multinational real estate companies based in Bochum. The challenge focused on creating innovative material and technological solutions for a residential house in Cologne, Germany.
OUR TASK
Space Era was tasked with addressing a critical problem statement:
• Develop a material innovation that offers sustainable, modular building solutions.
• Create a digital platform to improve decision-making and transparency for stakeholders in the construction process.
our sOLUTION
Space Era delivered a dual solution combining modular architecture and digital innovation:
1. Material Innovation
• Broad B-Core, a modular and sustainable building material, offering an efficient alternative to traditional materials for greener, smarter construction.
2. Digital Innovation
• Developed a 3D Navigator platform enabling clients and stakeholders to:
◦ Visualize building material databases.
◦ Access sustainability metrics and sales information in real-time.
◦ Enhance decision-making and foster sustainable development.
Our approach demonstrated how integrating sustainability and digital tools can address pressing challenges in a practical and impactful way.

OUR RESULT
• Space Era was amongst the winners at the hackathon, earning recognition for our contextual and innovative solutions.
• Engaged in discussions with VONOVIA to collaborate on their extensive portfolio of over 16,000 residential properties in Germany.
